Scott Nelson & Muriel Brugman are full-time professional entertainers. Their shows consists of clever illusions they created themselves combined with hilarious slapstick comedy. They began working together in 1999, and in 2000, they traveled to Portugal to compete in the World Championships of Magic. Out of 140 contestants, the judges chose Scott & Muriel as the best act of all. They were awarded the prestigious FISM Grand Prix and so became first comedy duo in history to earn the title ”œWorld Champions of Magic.” Since then they have traveled the world delighting audiences wherever they go. To date they have performed in 20 countries, both live and on television. Some of their more famous presenters include Cirque du Soleil, the Just for Laughs Festival in Montreal, the Greek Isles Casino in Las Vegas, and the International Circus Festival of Monte Carlo, where they received two special prizes and a standing ovation from the audience, which included their Royal Highnesses Princess Stephanie and Prince Albert of Monaco. Scott Nelson, from California, plays a typical magician for whom nothing goes as planned. Muriel Brugman, of the Netherlands, is one of the few great female clowns in the world. Her character is a naive, much”“too”“eager assistant who often pays the price when things go wrong. In February 2009, they were invited to perform their full evening show at the prestigious Theater Princess Grace in Monte Carlo. Then, in November of that year, Scott & Muriel were awarded the Golden Clown at the World Festival of Clowns in Ekaterinburg, Russia.
